Yes, it's paintings. They're a little bit random, but I am really enjoying making them.
I am definitely planning to ship them home if I can't get them into my suitcases.

You have an amazing sense for color and motion. I love these! I want one!!! I like how you can "feel" the canvas on the second one. The blue one is incredible. It speaks to me of calm and peace and motion, of sky and water and heaven and angels... The fourth one is my favorite though. I am not going to say why. It just is. I love the motion in the last one. Man, you are really gifted! Nice job!

Thanks, Bill! I wish I could say there was any talent whatsoever involved... but it's actually a very random process. Well, I pick the colors, of course, and I place them on the canvas in random splotches, and then I mash two canvases or pieces of painting paper together and create a mish-mash set of mirror-image paintings. No technique to it what.so.ever. :) But I'm still really glad you like them!

I am afraid I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you, Sarah. You have talent if I say you have talent. So there.

You did pick the colors. You also picked the size of the canvas, where to place the colors, the texture of the canvas and the paint, the position of the paint relative to other colors, the amount of pressure to apply, the technique used to separate the papers or canvases... You are much more involved than you think. You don't look at Pollock's stuff and go - hey, it's just a bunch of paint blotches... He just flung paint at canvas... No, Pollock is a master because of what he did, how he did it, and the effect his work has on people. At some level, these decisions are being made by you, the artist. Experimentation is fun, and art is one of the few places in our world where we can just let go and do it! Keep doing it. It's really, really cool.
